Processed and Refined Foods

Habitually eating this apparently promotes the elevation of insulin in the body. Food that has lots of chemicals and extenders are highly fattening and may also cause allergic reactions, anyway. So, our body greatly benefits when we keep this off the diet.
Milk and Dairy Products
Milk is a rich source of calcium that can help develop strong bones especially for growing teenagers. But, considering its source (a pregnant cow), dermatological studies have shown that the liquid actually contains hormones that cause our glands to produce more oil. Doctors, however, advise against completely removing milk from the diet because our body rely its nutrients. Acne-prone individuals may need to adjust their intake of milk and other dairy products instead, in order to avoid a severe acne breakout.
Coffee and Soda
Caffeine is found in coffee, soda, energy drinks and some chocolates and desserts. In truth, a solid research has yet to prove the direct link between caffeine to acne. But since it has diuretic properties, which works against water retention, it may also take away our body’s natural tendencies to help clear the skin. We need water to moisturize and keep skin soft and too much caffeine in the body may inhibit this, thus drying our skin and causing acnes to develop. Limiting coffee intake, avoiding desserts rich in caffeine, or removing soda from the diet can have significant effects.
Treatment and prevention of acne requires more than just medication. Taking a conscious effort to control what we eat by changing our diet plan can determine how we manage our skin problems and other health concerns. With so many restaurants popping on every corner, and the convenience of grocery stores everywhere, it’s so easy to give in to temptations. That’s not to say we shouldn’t indulge ourselves with all these gastronomic offerings every now and then. But it’s nice to re-think and reconsider our food choices and know that there is something we can do about it.
