<p>Before anything else, you should always remember that this meal plan will not be very successful if you do not have self-control, discipline and a goal.  You will need these three key ingredients for the daily meal plan to be successful.</p>
<p>SELF CONTROL</p>
<p>You should be able to control yourself to follow and eat only what is in our daily diet meal plan to lose of maintain a healthy weight.  There are tons of temptations in our planet that is why being able to control yourself can lead you to good results!</p>
<p>DISCIPLINE</p>
<p>In the office, at home or in any place, food will be available.  There is nothing wrong if you’re in a party and you want to eat the foods which are not in our meal plan as long as you have discipline.  A little bite of cupcake won’t hurt as long as you know when to stop or how much you should be eating.</p>
<p>GOAL</p>
<p>You must have a goal – it’s either you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy body.  Without a goal or a purpose, you wouldn’t know where you are supposed to be heading or if you are failing.</p>
<p>Daily Diet Meal Plan</p>
<p>Monday, Wednesday and Friday</p>
<p>Breakfast: [Half cup Cooked Oats, 175ml Yoghurt, 1 Green Apple] or [Half cup Low Fat Muesli, 1 cup Milk, 2 Plums]<br />

<p>Lunch: [1 Serving of Pasta Meal on Olive Oil, Salad] or [Chicken Fillet Sandwich, Fruits]</p>
<p>Snack: Any Fruit and 175ml Yoghurt</p>
<p>Dinner: Chicken (White Meat), Lean Meat, Salmon cooked in olive oil or roasted, Salad and a cup of mixed fruits</p>
<p>Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday</p>
<p>Breakfast: Half cup Bran Flakes, Half cup Low Fat Milk, 1 Medium-sized Banana</p>
<p>Lunch: 1 Medium Pita Bread, 1 Tin Tuna in Brine, Salad, 2 tbsp Lite Mayo</p>
<p>Snack: Any Fruit and 175ml Yoghurt</p>

<p>But what if you really can’t say no to dining out in a buffet restaurant like if there is a special occasion in your family or there is a special event to celebrate with your co-workers? Or you just purchased a voucher for a buffet dinner because the promo is so hard to resist with the discount coupon being offered at 50% off.</p>
<p>Don’t worry. Buffet doesn’t have to be a dieter’s archenemy. Here are a few tips to help you stay healthy when in a buffet:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Eat before heading to the buffet</strong>. Try to eat something before leaving home like fruits or yogurt cup so you will not come starved. At least if you don’t feel hungry, you will more likely have the willpower to avoid temptation and not overeat.</li>
<li><strong>Start on the salad bar</strong>. Start your meal by eating green leafy vegetables and fruits, which are rich in fiber and is good to help you feel full. With a full stomach, you will be able to lessen your calorie intake and will be able to skip foods rich in carbohydrates and calorie easily. Also remember to put the dressing on the side instead of mixing it with your fruits and vegetables, as the dressing is rich in calorie. You may also use olive oil and balsamic vinegar as this contains low calorie.</li>
<li><strong>Fill up with soup</strong>. Another way to fill you up aside from salad is soup. Avoid cream-based soups though and choose those that are made from low calorie milk instead of full cream milk.</li>
<li><strong>Go for lean protein</strong>. Lean protein like grilled or roasted chicken, or lean steak are low in calories so it is a good way to fill up your hunger without taking in too much carbo.</li>
<li><strong>Try the choose-your-own stations</strong>. Some buffet offer stations where you can choose your own ingredient like the omelet station. With the power to choose the ingredients to be use for your meal, you will be able to make healthy choices by staying away from sugary, salty and fatty foods.</li>
<li><strong>Stay away from fried foods</strong>. We all know that deep fried foods is a big no-no if you are on a diet so avoid as much as you can foods like French fries, pizza, and other creamy based pasta.</li>
<li><strong>Choose desserts wisely</strong>. We all know how tempting dessert stations are in buffet restaurant. You will really be tempted to eat just by the looks of it. But you can still enjoy desserts by eating low-fats ones like yogurt. If you really can’t avoid the urge to have a bite of those tasty sweets, just divide your dessert in portions before starting to eat so you will be aware and conscious of how much sweets you have eaten.</li>
</ol>
<p>Even if you have a bunch of delicious meals in front of you, you can still manage to eat healthy by following the tips mentioned above.</p>

<p>There are two types of calories, the small calorie and the large calorie. Small calories are a measure of how much energy it takes to increase the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. A large calorie, also known as kilocalorie or food calorie, measures how much energy it takes to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius. Many foreign foods are labeled with kcal instead of just “calories”, as the U.S. does. Kcal and Calories are the same thing.</p>
<p>If you have ever been concerned about your health, you have probably already learned that by looking at the calorie content of any food, you can tell if it is a good choice for you to eat or not. Let&#8217;s discuss a little more about the importance of calories and how you can use calorie content on labels to your advantage.</p>
<p>How do they measure calories?</p>
<p>Most foods are made up of a variety of components. There are 7 main ones that actually produce caloric heat, or in other words, have calories. The four that we will be most concerned with as far as diet goes are fat, proteins, carbohydrates, and fiber. Just one gram of fat contains 9 calories. Both proteins and carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram. And finally, fiber contains a mere 2 calories per gram. Thus, in order to find the total amount of calories in a food you must determine how many grams of each calorie-holding ingredient is in the item.</p>
<p>Another possible way to determine calories in a food item is to burn it. Perhaps you did an experiment in your high school science class that taught you how this was done. Under controlled circumstances, you would measure how much heat was given off when a certain food item was burned. Then, using chemistry calculations, you would be able to determine the total number of calories in the food. This generic method doesn&#8217;t tell you how many of those calories come from the seven components mentioned above, but it can certainly be a fun experiment anyway.</p>
<p>How many calories should I have each day?</p>
<p>The number of calories you should eat each day is completely dependent upon your body. Men need more calories a day than women because their bodies contain more muscle mass. Athletes burn large amounts of calories and thus need to eat more in order to compensate. Overweight people actually need more calories to maintain their weight than those with a normal weight because it takes their body more work to perform its regular daily functions. Pregnant women need more calories than regular women. Older folks should eat few calories than adults and teenagers. We could go on and on about the differences in calorie intake for each person.</p>
<p>Basically, your body burns a certain amount of calories every day as you go about your regular activities, and even more if you add exercise to the mix. To maintain your weight, you must eat only as many calories as you burn. If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than your body burns. The opposite if you want to gain weight. It all comes down to simple science and really knowing how your body responds under given conditions.</p>
<p>Luckily, there are plenty of online calculators that can help you figure out a general idea of how many calories you should eat a day in order to maintain weight, lose it, or even gain it. Having good health can be critical to preserve a balanced and happy life. If you have never tried it before, you should give label reading a try on your next shopping trip. It may surprise you how many calories are in some of the foods you find most enjoyable! Now that you understand what a calorie actually does and how it can affect your life, you will be able to take control of your own health and make wise health choices.</p>

<p><strong>Volumetrics</strong></p>
<p>Doctors and dieticians to refer to foods that are low in calories yet satisfying to the appetite use the phrase “high volume.” Foods high in fiber, such as fruits and vegetables, are nutrient-rich and helpful with digestion. Luckily for dieters, they are also “high volume”. Volumetric diets capitalize on this nutritional fact, allowing dieters to eat often, and without too much restraint, as long as they consume high volume foods.</p>
<p>The science of volumetrics is simple. High volume foods contain more air, water and fiber than other foods. These nutrients, despite being void of calories, still cause the stomach to stretch with fullness and then empty slowly as it would with a higher calorie, lower volume meal. This leads to a satisfied appetite. Eating foods that have this effect before meals helps control the appetite, and therefore, caloric intake.</p>
<p><strong>High Volume Foods</strong></p>
<p>High air volume foods include light and airy snacks such as popcorn, puffed wheat or puffed rice. Soup, watermelon and tomatoes are good examples of high water volume foods. Some foods fit in several categories, such as oatmeal. When cooked, this grain absorbs a great deal of water, and it is high in fiber. While many high volume foods have the added benefit of containing high fiber, those that do not can still be beneficial. Yogurt is an excellent example of a high-volume, low-fiber food.</p>
<p><strong>Protein</strong></p>
<p>In addition to the volumetric approach, many dieticians reap the benefits of lean proteins in controlling appetite. Proteins contribute to a feeling of “fullness” in ways that other nutrients cannot. Diets that incorporate a significant amount of lean protein are easier to stick to, simply because dieters feel fuller when there is a significant amount of protein in the food they eat, even if that food is low in calories. One study in particular shows that high protein breakfasts offer the most benefit to women.</p>
<p>Researchers from the Pennington Biomedical Research Centers presented findings from one of their studies on women at the 2007 Experimental Biology meeting. In the study, some dieters received a bagel, while others had two eggs for their morning meals. Both meals were equal in volume and calories, but the eggs had a significant advantage in protein. Through the course of the study, researchers such as Nikhil V. Dhurandhar, PhD, found that the women who ate two eggs for breakfast rather than a bagel lost 65% more weight than their counterparts, and reduced their size 85% more. Simply put, starting the day with a meal rich in lean proteins controls hunger and reduces the need for more calories throughout the day. Here are some high-protein foods that will benefit a low-calorie diet:</p>

<li>Grilled chicken</li>
<li>Fish</li>
</ul>

Add basil leaves to your favorite summertime salads or pasta dishes, or grind it into a pesto and serve with pasta and chicken for a light summer dinner.</p>
<p>Also known for their presence in Italian dishes, tomatoes are fabulous for any summer dish. Add fresh tomatoes to basil leaves, olive oil and fresh mozzarella for a simple salad, or cook them into a savory, homemade pasta sauce.</p>
<h3 id="toc-a-delicious-secret">A Delicious Secret</h3>
<p>Fava beans are just becoming popular as a refreshing summertime snack. Although called “beans,” favas are actually from the pea family. After peeling, substitute fava beans for chick peas in a delicious hummus recipe for a protein-packed snack with raw carrots or crostini. Another delicious option is to add these well-textured, cooked peas to pasta dishes or yummy summer salads.</p>
<h3 id="toc-the-musical-fruit">The Musical Fruit</h3>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have fava beans on hand for a yummy hummus dip, try black beans instead. Also an excellent source of protein, black beans are high in fiber and calcium &#8211; which make them great for strengthening bones and teeth &#8211; and they help fight high cholesterol. Don&#8217;t just consider black beans for your hummus recipe. Use them in veggie burgers or add them to your favorite quesadilla recipe.</p>
<h3 id="toc-berry-benefits">Berry Benefits</h3>
<p>One of the perfect fruits for summertime, strawberries are also considered a &#8220;super fruit.&#8221; They&#8217;re low in calories but provide vitamin C, fiber, folic acid and potassium and they&#8217;re high in antioxidants. Strawberries also contain malic acid, which is a naturally-occurring acid that can whiten teeth – use the pulp with baking soda to naturally whiten your smile. A word of warning: strawberries also contain sugar, so brush your teeth with regular toothpaste after whitening to avoid any unforeseen tooth decay.</p>
<h3 id="toc-dunk-those-strawberries-in-chocolate">Dunk Those Strawberries in Chocolate!</h3>
<p>Cocoa powder is known for its abundance of flavonoids, which helps fight high blood pressure and naturally improves oral health. Seek out dark chocolate that is at least 70% pure cocoa and avoid any that has been processed with alkali, which strips chocolate of these valuable flavonoids. Then melt this yummy, silky chocolate and dip those strawberries for a fantastic summertime treat!</p>

However, everyone must understand the consequences of eating poorly, both physically and mentally.<span id="more-933"></span></p>
<p>In order to stave off health issues such as heart disease, thyroid issues, and many others, we turn to various weight loss techniques. However, one particular technique is standing out in more ways than one – The idea to eat more nuts and fruit to help weight loss. What’s so strange about this particular technique is that you don’t necessarily have to reduce the amount that you eat, but rather just eat more natural foods.</p>
<p>The way your body functions is fairly simple. Basically, you require approximately 2000 calories a day to perform daily actions. If you consume 1500 calories of food, then your body goes into your reserve, and as a result you lose weight. How many calories you consume usually has to do with your weight and activity level, but this is a fairly solid average.</p>
<p><strong>So how does this explain eating lots of nuts, fruits and yoghurt?</strong> Well, these items contain nutrients that are much easier for the body to process. As a result of these natural foods being easier to process, the body can effortlessly retrieve the nutrients and then dispose of the leftovers. In the same light, eating a hamburger can be devastating to your health because the body has such a hard time processing this food. As a result of having difficulty disposing of that hamburger, the body retains much of what you ate.</p>
<p>Eating nuts, yoghurt and fruit can seriously be an immensely useful aid in your quest to lose weight. While the food you eat is incredibly important, it is also absolutely essential that you perform some kind of physical exercise. If you consider the earlier explanation, think about this. If your body is requiring 2500 calories, or even 3000 calories to function as a result of exercise, and you only consume 1500 calories, then you are definitely to lose weight in a very timely fashion. Couple this with eating nuts, yoghurt and fruit, and who knows, you could start seeing results in as short of a time frame as a week!</p>
<p>Losing weight can be a very exciting endeavor, and if you really want to see results, now is the time to take action. So many people have lost weight using this form of diet, and it is an incredibly appealing one. After all, who doesn’t love nuts? The very best part about this diet is that it doesn’t reduce the amount you eat. There is no need to feel hungry, since you can eat your normal amount, but you must try and eat along their guidelines and consume food that is healthier for you. The time to take action is now, and if you want to start looking and feeling great, get out there and eat well and exercise. Within weeks you will definitely start feeling better!</p>

<p>This diet consists of eating soup made up of cabbage, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, celery, carrots, onion soup mix, and other vegetables. The cabbage soup diet claims that by eating nothing but cabbage soup for one week, you will lose from ten to fifteen pounds. While eating nothing but cabbage soup for a week may result in significant weight loss, it is nothing more than water weight loss. It is physically impossible for your body to lose ten to fifteen pounds of fat in one week. Cabbage soup acts as a diuretic, which causes you to lose previously retained water.</p>
<h3 id="toc-3-no-fat-diet">3. No Fat Diet</h3>
<p>Completely fat free diets are bad for you. Dietary fat intake is necessary for the proper absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. Additionally, essential fatty acids like fish and plant oils are essential for good health. Certain types of fat are good for your body. Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated are healthy fats that actually help lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, increase heart strength, and soften skin and hair. In fact, most people who try to eliminate fat from their diet actually gain weight and decline in health.</p>
<h3 id="toc-4-detoxifying-diet">4. Detoxifying Diet</h3>
<p>Detoxifying and/or cleansing diets are extremely popular. They claim that are bodies are full of impurities that must be expelled in order for optimal health and weight loss. However, most detoxifying diets are nothing more than laxatives in disguise. These diets are very harmful on your body due to the lack of adequate nutrition and dehydration.</p>

<p>Following the grapefruit diet requires you to eat grapefruit before each meal and in between meals as a snack. Yes, grapefruit is healthy and good for you, but no, it is not a magical weight loss solution.</p>
